Self-Imposed Drama...Hello Bridget Jones

Okay, so there's been a bit of drama in my life lately. All self-imposed. My mom says I remind her of Bridget Jones. My car was very illegal - no inspection, expired registration, missed a court date for a ticket. I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago and seriously was just happy that I didn't get arrested. The cop gave me a bunch of citations and confiscated my driver's liscense and towed my car. He left me on the street corner dumbfounded with my purse, backpack and a bunch of citations in hand. I called a cab and got to work. So, the last couple of weeks, I've been working through becoming legit while taking the bus and taxis to get around. My friend Anjali has been an angel through all this. She went with me to pick up my car and drove it from the tow place to the dealership. Then she went with me again to drive it from the dealership to my house. I got it inspected last weekend. I was planning on going to the DMV this morning, but realized at the last moment that today is a federal holiday. I called, and of course, it is closed. So, I will go tomorrow.

Work has been quite busy. I've been working 10-12 hour days lately and some on weekends. Hopefully it will calm down soon. We had a release on Wed and as a result things have been breaking and acting funny ever since. Things that I wasn't even aware we made changes to are acting funny.

I decided this morning that I need to meet some new people. I find myself getting lonely and bored too often. I have lots of friends, but the majority of them do not live in DC. I will consider taking a photography/ painting/ pottery class and see if that helps.

As a result of all of my car drama, I have been getting my personal business in order. I reviewed all my paperwork and threw out everything from 2003. I'm working with a friend of mine that is a financial adviser to move all of my money to a single investment firm. I'm rolling over old 401Ks. I'm getting more organized with work as well. I submitted my expenses yesterday, some dating back to Jan 2006.

Well, that's all I got.

Peace.
